About Northern Aviation Services
The family owned and operated business started in the heart of Kununurra, located in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. It has now expanded to include bases in Derby and Broome in the West Kimberley, as well as Darwin in the Northern Territory, providing services across the North of Australia and as far south as the Pilbara region in WA.
Owners Jock & Hayley Warriner are both helicopter and fixed wing pilots who have spent the majority of their flying careers across the North of Australia. Their rural backgrounds and industry knowledge enables them to understand, communicate and work effectively with a diverse range of corporate, government and private clients.
After starting in 2018 with just eight helicopters, Jock and Hayley have grown the business considerably to now include West Kimberley airwork and tourism operators Frontier Helicopters and KAS Helicopters, and a fleet of ten R44s, two B206 Long Ranger helicopters and two AS350 Squirrels, as well as a Piper Saratoga fixed wing aircraft. All businesses now operate under the Northern Aviation Services (NAS) group of companies.
The recent acquisition of KAS and Frontier Helicopters has seen the NAS team's capabilities and fleet expand significantly, adding turbine and tourism capacity as well as additional management and administrative staff. We also employ three licenced engineers and three engineering apprentices, as well as highly experienced contract pilots who complement the team throughout the busy periods of the annual dry season across the North.
After an early career in corporate agriculture culminating as a General Manager with a seat on the Board, coupled with a business degree from Bond University, Jock has brought additional non-aviation professionalism to the development of NAS. Since its inception, Northern Aviation Services has grown considerably and invested in quality aircraft, pilots and staff, guaranteeing premium helicopter airwork services and scenic flights, bespoke fixed wing charters, and second-to-none remote aerial specialist services across the North.
Team Spirit
As the leading helicopter charter service provider in the North West, NAS prides itself on delivering quality, reliable and responsive service when it matters most! This means having an experienced and qualified team of pilots and engineers working across a fleet of piston and turbine helicopter operations. It also means looking after the team, looking out for each other - and acting like a family unit at all times. We want everyone home safe every day.
